About Market Harborough – Leicestershire

This lovely little market town within the Harborough district has approximately 23 thousand people living in it, with it’s local council being the Harborough District Council.

It’s very close to the border of Leicestershire with Northamptonshire, and was formerly known for the crossroads of road and railways, however when the A6 was bypassed to the East it lost this credential.

It used to be a big part of the Rockingham Forest, where royals used to hunt during the medieval era. The parish church is called St. Dionysius, and it’s a big focal point at the centre of the town, with the old grammar school lying just next to it.
